'Becoming the quasi-cause of what is produced within us, the Operator; of producing surfaces and linings in which the event is reflected, finds itself as incorporeal and manifests in us the neutral splendour which it possesses in itself in its impersonal and pre-individual nature, beyond the general and the particular, the collective and the private.'
- Gilles Deleuze, Logic of Sense
In this new work by our very own Siren, the artist welds together fragmented recordings of the bucolic psychedelia of his North Yorkshire home with the hazy assemblage of a fugged out London hyper/night/time.
"Foregone nightlife. Nightjars on the moors, soul stompers, footsteps drenched in reverb, runaway drum loops ‘decapitated from drummers’, and dreadbass arriving out the fog. Sherelle mixing Maximum Style, stories of big nights out, and Corsica Studios’ smokey engine room. Sirens and the drunken sing along to In Da Club; every bird has its place in the dawn chorus. Searching for exits. Made during lockdown to consolidate the loss of one nightlife in exchange for another. Combining recordings from nights out in London and watching Nightjars on the North Yorkshire moors. Accompanied by the recollection of a dream of a feverous night out."
